Formigas de Embaúba
In the heart of Greater São Paulo, the "Formigas de Embaúba" project has emerged as a beacon of hope and environmental action. Designed to transform environmental education in public schools, this project, supported by Instituto Yarandu since December 2022, has achieved notable results in teacher training and raising awareness among students aged 2 to 14.
With an investment of approximately R$42,000 by Instituto Yarandu, "Formigas de Embaúba" was able to realize its dream of creating small Mata Atlântica forests in schools. This initiative not only revitalizes the school environment, but also serves as a living laboratory for students, raising awareness of the urgent need to regenerate our ecosystems.
The positive impacts of "Formigas de Embaúba" until the end of 2023 include:
Impactful Environmental Education: More than 1,500 students benefited from awareness and practical learning programs.
Trained Teachers: Approximately 100 teachers trained in critical environmental education.
People Impacted: Around 3,000 people impacted, including students, teachers and members of the school community.
Planting Native Trees: More than 2,000 native trees planted, contributing to improving air quality and increasing biodiversity.
The success of "Formigas de Embaúba" is an evidence of Instituto Yarandu's vision and commitment to supporting initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and education. Through its support, Instituto Yarandu not only provided financial resources, but also contributed with crucial strategies for the expansion and articulation of the project, ensuring its lasting impact.
